October 01, 2013
Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

Now that the period of Government-requested nationwide energy conservation is over, Chubu Electric Power would like to announce that it has compiled electric power supply and demand results for summer FY2013. (July 01-September 30)

We were able to maintain a stable supply for summer FY2013 because of the energy-conservation efforts of our customers. We would like to express our sincere thanks to them.

1 Peak load at generating end

We estimated the monthly maximum power three-day average for summer FY2013 at 25,040 MW. (Press Released April 09, 2013)

Because the heat wave occurred in summer FY2013, the monthly maximum power three-day average was 25,640 MW, exceeded our estimated value by 600MW.

2 Energy conservation effects

The energy conservation efforts of numerous general domestic and corporate customers since last year resulted in an estimated energy-saving of 1,400 MW in our region.

3 Supply capacity

We started commercial operation of Joetsu Thermal Power Station Unit No. 2-1 (output: 576 MW) in July 2013. This allowed us to supply maximum 1,250 MW (During weekday daytime) of power upon request from other electric power companies that foresee supply shortages, as long as we have the supply capacity to ensure a stable supply in the Chubu Region.
