Development and Start of Measurement/Analysis Service of Wireless Temperature Measurement System “MieruTIME 4D”

December 1, 2017

Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.
Kyushu Keisokki Co., Ltd.

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (Headquarters: Higashi-ku, Nagoya City; President & Director: Satoru Katsuno; “Chubu Electric Power”) and Kyushu Keisokki Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City; President: Hirotaka Iwakura; “Kyushu Keisokki”) have jointly developed “MieruTIME 4D,” a wireless temperature measurement system that can indicate spatial temperatures on a four-dimensional (4D) space-time basis (Note 1; “the developed product”).

Plants and restaurants have been experiencing such issues as uneven temperatures caused by equipment heat emission in manufacturing processes that require temperature control, and working environment deterioration resulting from unbalanced cold and hot heat in the kitchen. There thus have been calls for specifying local hot spots and uneven temperatures in plants and restaurants.

The developed product can make indoor environments that the human eye cannot capture (e.g. uneven spatial temperatures, local hot spots) visible by arranging temperature-measuring wireless poles, compiling data to a computer through radio, and generating images accordingly. With the developed product, people can also check improvement processes in real time. That means it enables better improvement precision by significantly scaling back time spent for verifications and changing the amount of air supplies and ventilation.

Starting December 1, Chubu Electric Power will launch an energy solution service (Note 2) for making measurements and analyses based on requests from plant and restaurant operator customers. By having customers use Chubu Electric Power services that harness the ability of the developed product, we will offer support spanning from specifying uneven spatial temperatures and local hot spots, considering improvement measures, and checking improvement effects.

The developed product will be released from February 2018 by Chubu Electric Power and Kyushu Keisokki, with a goal of selling 30 units a year.

(Note 1) 4D: A method that can capture time base in addition to three-dimensional representations (i.e. length, width, and depth)

(Note 2) Energy solution service: This is a service Chubu Electric Power provides to plant and office customers for suggesting optimum energy use
