The May 2017 failure events in a crane for disposal (e.g. gap in joint on which the crane runs) at JNFL's Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Center caused a delay in transporting out low-level radioactive waste from Hamaoka NPS. (Previously announced on May 26, 2017)

JNFL later notified Chubu Electric Power it completed restoring the crane and gained prospect of accepting the low-level radioactive waste from March. After adjustments with relevant parties, it was decided to transport out roughly half of the amount planned at the outset of the fiscal year.

The amount to be transported is one that is planned at the moment. There may be changes depending on the status of JNFL's preparations for accepting the waste. Chubu Electric Power will make another announcement when such changes do occur.
