On the Contract for the Business Feasibility Study in the United Republic of Tanzania

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. has received a contract for the "United Republic of Tanzania: Business Feasibility Study for the Development and Streamlining of the Urban Area Power Grid" in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's call for proposals for the "FY2018 Business Feasibility Study Project in the Overseas Expansion of Quality Energy Infrastructure (note)".
With the rapid rise in electricity demand in recent years, the United Republic of Tanzania has been facing challenges that require immediate attention such as the deterioration of transmission lines and their lack of capacity. In this study, we will formulate a business model for expanding the capacity of the transmission lines, reducing transmission loss, among others, in Dar Es Salaam, the economic center of Tanzania, and the Northeastern part of the country to investigate its business feasibility. The business model will reflect our technology and know-how related to the basic plan, design and construction as well as operation and maintenance of our company's transmission facilities.
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. will strive to grasp business opportunities and increase our presence abroad through measures such as overseas consulting, using technical capabilities developed domestically, to achieve further growth.

(note)"FY2018 Business Feasibility Study Business in the Overseas Expansion of Quality Energy Infrastructure" is a call for proposals hosted by the Trade and Investment Facilitation Division of the Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau of the METI from March 09 to April 9, 2018, to promote infrastructure projects to the related parties in the target country that leverage Japanese companies' superior technology and know-how among others.
