Start of Construction for the Biomass Power Generation Facility at the Yokkaichi Thermal Power Station

Chubu Electric Power would like to announce that it has started construction on the biomass power generation facility at the Yokkaichi Thermal Power Station today.

The Yokkaichi Thermal Power Station biomass power generation facility is the first power generation facility fueled solely by biomass to be built by our company and is part of our efforts to develop environmentally friendly renewable energy. The facility is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 160,000 tons per year.

With the cooperation and understanding of the local community and related parties, we will proceed with construction putting safety first and paying due consideration to protecting the environment.
