Commencement of commercial operation at the Miyako Kuzakai Solar Park

Miyako Kuzakai Solar Park LLC, jointly capitalized by Chubu Electric Power Company and Total Solar (Note) (head office in French Republic), has launched the operation of the Miyako Kuzakai Solar Park on May 31 in the Kuzakai district of Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture.

This is a large-scale solar power generation station, whose construction by Miyako Kuzakai Solar Park LLC began in April 2017. It is expected to have power generation output of 18,000kW (18MW), mitigating CO2 emissions by approx. 13,000 tons per year.

The company strives to achieve new development of similar sites with a combined output of at least 2 million kW by 2030 in order to contribute to enhancement in energy security and establish renewable energy, which is kind to the global environment, as one of the nation's main power sources.

The company will continue to actively develop renewable energy facilities into the future.

(Note) Total Solar is a 100% subsidiary of France's energy corporation, Total SA, which operates photovoltaic power generation business around the world.
