Senior Staff system for employing retirees expanded

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. has adopted the Senior Staff system for the employment of retirees to draw on the knowledge, skills, and experience held by employees before mandatory retirement age, and to provide a rewarding working environment and lifestyle that accounts for the desire of employees to continue working.
In response to implementation of the amended Law Concerning Stabilization of Employment of Older Persons and for the purpose of improving productivity by utilizing the abilities of older persons across a wide range of its business activities, as outlined below, Chubu Electric Power has adopted, in principle, the policy of hiring all retirees who desire employment.
1. System overview
(1) Eligible persons:
Healthy retirees who have reached the mandatory retirement age of 60 with Chubu Electric Power who demonstrate the requisite motivation and skills and who show promise of success in such capacity.
(2) Employment period:
Employment contracts shall have terms of no more than one year in length and may be renewed until the employee reaches the age of 65.
(3) Duties:
The duties of employees under this system shall be those that draw on the retirees' knowledge, skills, and experience, as instructed by Chubu Electric Power on a case-by-case basis.
(4) Employment system:
In accordance with the duties of individual employees, a flexible employment system shall be adopted, with a low number of working days/week and a low number of hours worked/day.
(5) Salary:
Salaries shall be determined on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with individual employees' duties and performance.
