Shipment of spent fuels completed

Shipments of spent fuels to the spent-fuel receiving and storage facilities of Japan Nuclear Fuel Ltd. were completed today, as outlined below.


1.Shipment routes

(1) From the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant to Chubu Electric Power's private quay at the Port of Omaezaki

  • Transport vessel berthed: Thursday, February 16, 7:55 am
  • Land transportation began: 10:57 am
  • Land transportation completed: 11:33 am
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers began: 12:39 pm
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers completed: 2:22 pm
  • Transport vessel departed: 4:00 pm

(2) At the private quay of the Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station

  • Transport vessel berthed: Friday, February 17, 3:35 pm
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers began: Saturday, February 18, 1:24 pm
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers completed: Monday, February 20, 11:26 am
  • Transport vessel departed: 1:00 pm

(3) At the private quay of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

  • Transport vessel berthed: Monday, February 20, 3:40 pm
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers began: Tuesday, February 21, 11:15 am
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers completed: 3:42 pm
  • Transport vessel departed: Wednesday, February 22, 8:30 am

(4) From the Port of Mutsu Ogawara to the spent-fuel receiving and storage facilities:


Day 1:
  • Transport vessel berthed: Thursday, February 23, 7:50 am
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers began: 11:56 am
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers completed: 1:17 pm
  • Land transportation began: 2:45 pm
  • Land transportation completed (delivery to receiving facility): 3:39 pm

Day 2:
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers began: Friday, February 24, 9:16 am
  • Loading/unloading of shipping containers completed: 1:39 pm
  • Land transportation began: 12:05 pm
  • Land transportation completed (delivery to receiving facility): 3:47 pm
