Chubu Electric Power and Hitachi team up to begin offering a "fully electrified IT condominium-system" service
July 21, 2005
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
Hitachi, Ltd.
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. and Hitachi, Ltd. have reached
agreement on jointly offering a "fully electrified information-technology
condominium-system" service. In the future, the two companies
plan to proceed with various joint-development efforts such as checking
the energy-conservation performance of devices in fully electrified
condominium homes, as well as jointly providing products such as full-electrification
systems and security systems for condominium use.
In recent years, residents' awareness of the importance of crime prevention and security has been increasing. In addition to a rise in the adoption of security systems for restricting entry by nonresidents?such as restrictions on elevator use and the installation of automatic locks on entrances to condominiums, apartment buildings, and other housing complexes, as well as on front doors of individual units?demand is increasing for conveniences such as remote locking of residential front doors and remote operation of home appliances using mobile phones
The "fully electrified IT condominium system" combines the "full-electrification systems" provided by Chubu Electric Power with Hitachi's net@ITEM IT system for condominiums, to provide condominium developers with a high-value-added, "fully electrified IT condominium system."
By utilizing the strengths of each company, Chubu Electric Power and Hitachi aim to enhance their development and provision of services that meet the market's needs for strengthened security and improved convenience, seeking to achieve adoption of these services by a cumulative total of 1,000 homes in the Chubu Electric Power service area?centered on the Nagoya region?by the end of the 2006 fiscal year.
