We have developed the "LandPlus Z" soil conditioner for agricultural use by mixing artificial zeolite with a type of coal ash referred to as "clinker ash."
To do our part in the establishment of a recycling-oriented society, we have been reusing coal ash generated at our Hekinan Thermal Power Plant, in various ways
As part of these efforts, in October 2004 we began the production and sale of the "Circulash" artificial zeolite, which makes effective use of coal ash.
Due to its outstanding adsorptive capacity, we have been selling artificial zeolite mainly for the removal of malodorous gases and for water purification.
Today artificial zeolite is used for an increasing variety of purposes-for example, as a deodorizing agent in air purifiers. In addition to these current uses, we intend to market artificial zeolite as a soil conditioner for farming, landscaping, and gardening.
Our existing "LandPlus" soil conditioner is made of clinker ash. Our newly developed "LandPlus Z" combines the properties of artificial zeolite and clinker ash to improve acidic soil, in addition to its outstanding water and nutrient retention and permeability to water and air.
LandPlus Z production facilities will be completed in November 2005, and will be followed by the launch of full-scale production and sale.
We will reinforce the sale of LandPlus Z and other products for farming, landscaping, and gardening, with the aim of increasing total sales of artificial zeolite to 3,000 tons annually by FY 2009.
