Fiber-optic Internet service commuf@ service area expansion planned

From the current service area within the city limits of Nagoya, Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. and Chubu Telecommunications Co., Inc. (CTC; headquarters: Naka-ku, Nagoya; President: Tadashi Morimoto) are steadily expanding the service area for their commuf@ fiber-optic Internet service to include major urban areas in the four prefectures of the Tokai region.
Listed below are the areas covered by phase one (five cities) and phase two (eleven cities and five towns) of this expansion.


Applications for service will be accepted from November 1, 2005, for areas covered by phase one of this expansion. Service provision will begin January 1, 2006, in these areas.

(*2) commuf@ fiber-optic IP telephony services will be available from January 10, 2006.


Acceptance of service applications begins:

In the area covered by phase one of this expansion: Tuesday, November 1, 2005

Applications will be accepted via the commuf@ Web site (http://www.commufa.jp) beginning 11:00 am on the above date.
Acceptance of service applications in the area covered by phase two of this expansion is slated to begin February 1, 2006.
