Submission of notification of installation and changes based on the Occupational Health and Safety Law
December 15, 2005
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
Article 88 of the Occupational Health and Safety Law stipulates that the head of the Labor Standards Inspection Office must be notified of plans to install or make changes to buildings and machines 30 days in advance. However, it was discovered that notifications concerning some facilities at the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant had not been submitted. We have therefore notified the relevant Labor Standards Inspection Office accordingly.
As the result of the investigation we conducted on facilities other than the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant, we discovered that notifications concerning 66 facilities, including dam control offices and sales offices, were to be submitted, and we have notified the relevant Labor Standards Inspection Office accordingly.
Specifically, we have submitted notifications concerning the fuel tanks of backup power systems in our dam control offices, electric facilities in our sales offices, and light oil tanks and air-conditioning systems in our thermal power plants.
We intend to ensure that all of our employees understand the necessary procedures based on the Occupational Health and Safety Law and all of the relevant regulations, in order to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
