On June 3, 2005, Chubu Electric Power submitted an application for permission to make changes at the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant-including the sharing of the spent fuel pool in Reactor 5 and the elimination of the steam condensation function in the residual heat removal system of Reactors 2 and 3-based on the Law for the Regulation of Nuclear Source Material, Nuclear Fuel Material, and Reactors.

We are pleased to inform you that today we received permission for changes to the installation from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
