New record winter system peak load (third for this winter)

At 11:00 a.m. today, the power supplied by Chubu Electric Power reached a record 23,820,000 kW, breaking the previous winter system peak load record set on December 19, 2005.


We believe this heightened demand is attributable to greater use of heating systems, prompted by low daytime temperatures caused by the influx of an unusually cold winter air mass.


* System peak load at 11:00 a.m. refers to electricity consumed between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.
