Merger of Eiraku Unyu (Eiraku Transportation) and Oh'igawa Unso Soko (Oh'igawa Shipping and Warehousing)

As of January 1, 2006, Eiraku Unyu and Oh'igawa Unso Soko will merge to form a new entity, Chuden Transportation Service Co., Ltd. The two companies currently handle shipping operations for the Chubu Electric Group.
The new company resulting from the merger will be charged with establishing an effective shipping system for the Chubu Electric group by specializing in operations closely related to electric power operations, as well as by handling the transportation of industrial waste (including concrete waste and coal ash) generated by electric power operations, thereby allowing the group to fulfill its responsibilities as a waste generator.

The merger of these two companies was previously announced on December 21, 2004, when the parties reached a basic agreement.
