Concerning the Submission of the Report Relevant to the Results of the Inspection of the Power Plants

We have the pleasure to inform you that we have established in January 9, 2006, the Assessment/ Inspection Committee pertinent to the inspection of electric power plants, which held its first meeting on the same day to assess/examine whether there is falsification of data and deficiency and suchlike in the required procedures and other similar problems (hereinafter called "Incongruous Phenomena") in relation to hydraulic, thermal, and nuclear power plants in accordance with the instructions (the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency Issue No 1 of November 30, 2006) "Concerning the Inspection of Electric Power Plants" received from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, and we are carrying out the inspections.

We have the pleasure to inform you that we have consolidated the report of the results of the inspection concerning the present matter and have submitted today the report to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Atomic Energy Safety Agency.


Our company has scrutinized the number of Incongruous Phenomena as observed in the inspection and we found 14 Incongruous Phenomena for the Atomic Power Plants, 15 Incongruous Phenomena for Thermal Power Plants, and 11 Incongruous Phenomena for the Hydraulic Power Plants, making 40 Incongruous Phenomena in total.


Our company would like to express its deepest gratitude, first to all the people who are in the local districts and to all of those who involved in locating the Incongruous Phenomena.


Our company is engaged sincerely to put a stop to the facts that warranted the Incongruous Phenomena, and to the causes that allowed the existence of such phenomena to materialize and to enforce thoroughly the countermeasures to prevent their recurrence and the company is engaged in continuously improving them.


1 The Results of the Inspection Concerning the Cases

The results of the inspection show that there are 40 cases, and at present, we verified that the Incongruous Phenomena did not compromise the safety of the power plants. In addition, concerning these cases, we have examined the countermeasures to prevent their recurrence and have assessed their suitability in the "Assessing/Inspection Committee relevant to the inspection of the Power Plants".


2. Concerning the Future

Our company has swiftly examined the mechanism of the countermeasures for preventing recurrence for the whole company and the company is consolidating them. Once the company has fully consolidated these measures, it shall steadily enforce them.
