Environmental testing kit for grade school students
Commercial launch of the "Doki-doki! Waku-waku!! Environmental testing kit"
- Testing kit using properties of Chubu Electric's manmade zeolite, Circulash -

In a joint initiative between Chubu Electric Power subsidiary Komurisu (CEO:Shigetaka Sugiyama; Located at: 1-2-30 Marunouchi, Naka-ku, Nagoya) and ZEOTEK (CEO: Tadao Kumagai; Located at: 654 Kuroda, Kamisato, Iida-shi, Nagano), Chubu Electric Power is commercializing a environmentally educational testing kit geared for elementary students, the "Doki-doki! Waku-waku!! Environmental testing series."(1)


The environmental test kit's primary material uses Circulash* manmade zeolite, a recycled product using recycled coal ash. Using the water-purifying and deodorizing properties of Circulash, the testing kit offers a total of 5 experiments to clean dirty water, or make deodorizers.

This environmental testing series allows grade school children to have fun and learn while assembling and performing experiments. Each experiment results in something to actually use around the household, providing an opportunity for the entire family can become familiar with environmental issues and processes. The series is also perfect for use in environmental education or independent research.

The experimental kits will by sold by Tokyo Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. (CEO: Ikawa Hirotaka; Located at: 14-6, 3-chome, Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). In addition to sales to schools and other organizations as educational materials, the experimental kits are also scheduled for sale at Tokyo Hands (Nagoya, Nagoya ANNEX, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro locations) starting July 20 at a price of 840yen (including tax).
