Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station No. 4 (boiling water reactor, rated electric output 1.137 million kW) began its ninth regular inspection on March 23, 2006. As part of this process, plant equipment has been thoroughly checked.
The reactor was restarted on June 24, 2006 and equipment inspections and other tests have been performed using steam generated by the reactor during power adjustments.
The final inspection (General Load Performance Inspection) by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry concluded today, July 27 at 5:00 PM, and the reactor has resumed commercial operation.
