Release of Hitachi Air Purifier Using Circulash, Recycled Material from Coal Ash
September 8, 2006
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
The CLEAIR Deodorizing Award household air purifier from Hitachi Appliances, Inc. (President & Director: Takazumi Ishizu; address: Hitachi Atago Bldg., 15-12, Nishi Shimbashi 2-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo), on sale September 10, has a deodorizing filter that uses Circulash artificial zeolite sold by Chubu Electric.
Circulash, recycled from the coal ash that is a by-product of thermal power generation, was first used in an air purifier by Hitachi Home & Life Solutions, Inc. (the predecessor to the present Hitachi Appliances) last year. The new product, like the earlier one, uses Circulash in the deodorizing filter but performance improvements have raised the deodorizing rate to an industry high of 99%(*1).
Circulash has undergone rigorous testing of its performance as a deodorizing agent for air purifiers, and Hitachi Appliances' adoption of the material again after its debut use last year is a sign of the company's enthusiastic endorsement of Circulash.
The following improvements relating to Circulash have been made.
