About the "Home Energy Conservation Partnership Project"

Chubu Electric will take part in the Home Energy Conservation Partnership Project together with the cities of Nagoya and Owariasahi.

This project receives financial support as a New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) "Energy Supplier-led Comprehensive Energy Conservation Partnership Project (Households)" for FY2006. Chubu Electric, together with the cities of Nagoya and Owariasahi, will work to promote high-efficiency water heaters as effectively as possible to conserve energy and reduce regional CO₂ emissions.

Specifically, persons who install Eco Cute high-efficiency water heaters (using CO₂ refrigerant and heat pump technology) and "Sho-ene Navi" (energy saving navigation meters) in homes where they live in Moriyama Ward, Nagoya or in Owariasahi City will be reimbursed for part of their costs. Those receiving reimbursements will submit their energy savings data.

The energy savings and CO₂ emissions reductions calculated from the information received will then be widely advertised to residents of Nagoya and Owariasahi and beyond and used to promote high-efficiency water heaters.

Details of the project will soon be available through orientation sessions, pamphlets and the web sites of Chubu Electric and the cities of Nagoya and Owariasahi. Nagoya City will also have an announcement in the October issue of its publication "Koho Nagoya."

Overview of Home Energy Conservation Project

Devices eligible for subsidies	High-efficiency water heaters (only Eco Cute with CO2 refrigerant and heat pump technology) and "Sho-ene Navi" (energy-saving navigation meters)
Who is eligible	Persons meeting the following conditions. (1) Must plan to install eligible equipment in homes (homes must be strictly for residential use) where they live in Moriyama Ward, Nagoya or in Owariasahi City (includes installation in new homes or purchases of new homes in which the eligible equipment has already been installed) (2) Must not have begun installation of the eligible equipment prior to the certification of the subsidy program (3) Must be able to submit notice by January 31, 2007 that installation is complete (4) Must not be receiving any other national subsidies for installation of the eligible equipment
	(5) After installation, must be able to join the Moriyama Ward Home Energy Conservation Regional Association (tentative name; members include City of Nagoya, Chubu Electric, and persons who have installed eligible equipment, among others), practice energy conservation in the home, provide data including energy usage as recorded by "Sho-ene Navi" and help by answering questionnaires, etc.	(5) After installation, must be able to practice energy conservation in the home, provide data including energy usage as recorded by "Sho-ene Navi" and help by answering questionnaires, etc.
Amount of subsidy	Half the cost of installing eligible equipment (not including consumption tax), up to 375,000 yen.
