AIHO, Tokyo Electric Power and Chubu Electric Power have jointly developed the "Combination Fryer," an electricity-powered continuous food fryer for school cafeterias and other users needing to fry large quantities of food.

AIHO will begin sales of the product on September 21.

The greater interest in high-quality, healthy food in recent years has spurred demand for good-tasting fried foods containing less oil.

The new "Combination Fryer" combines a continuous fryer*1 and oven. After foods are fried, they are heated in the oven, which removes excess oil and leaves them healthy and delicious. Heating time is shorter than with earlier models, so the fryer's oil tank is smaller and less oil needs to be used.

For better sanitary care, the conveyer and heater in the oil tank are now designed to pop up, and the smoother surface of the oil tank facilitates clean-up.

The product will be on display at Food System Solution 2006*2 in Tokyo starting September 21.

AIHO plans an active marketing campaign to encourage adoption of the product by customers looking to implement or replace continuous fryers.

Additionally, Tokyo Electric and Chubu Electric will continue to develop high-efficiency, inexpensive devices to help customers lower their energy costs.
