October 20, 2006
Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc.
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
Hokuriku Electric Power Company
Kansai Electric Power Co., Ltd.
One hundred thirty rods of solid-glass waste from the 12th return of such waste are scheduled to ship to Japan Nuclear Fuel Co., Ltd.'s waste management facilities in Rokkasho, Aomori Prefecture. The attached document gives an overview of 54 of these rods, which concern Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc., Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc., Hokuriku Electric Power Company and Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc.
An application to confirm off-site disposal of the waste will be filed with the Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization after confirmation in France. An announcement will be made immediately upon making the application.
