About the "Home Energy Conservation Partnership Project"

Chubu Electric previously submitted a petition to the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) to make a grant for the implementation of the "Home Energy Conservation Partnership Project" in cooperation with the governments of Seto City (Aichi Prefecture), Ogaki City (Gifu Prefecture) and Suzuka City (Mie Prefecture). This is to announce that our application has been accepted by NEDO.

This project receives financial support as a NEDO "Energy Supplier-led Comprehensive Energy Conservation Partnership Project (Households)" for FY2007. Chubu Electric, together with the cities of Seto, Ogaki and Suzuka, will work to promote high-efficiency water heaters as effectively as possible to conserve energy and reduce CO₂ emissions regionally.

Specifically, persons who install Eco Cute high-efficiency water heaters (using CO₂ refrigerant and heat pump technology) and "Sho-ene Navi" (energy saving navigation meters) in homes where they live in Seto, Ogaki or Suzuka will be reimbursed for part of their costs. Those receiving reimbursements will submit their energy savings data.

The energy savings and CO₂ emissions reductions calculated as resulting from Eco Cute based on the information received will then be widely advertised to residents of Seto, Ogaki, Suzuka and beyond and used to promote the high-efficiency water heaters.

Details of the project will soon be available through orientation sessions to be held in each city, pamphlets, each city's community information magazine, and so on.

Overview of Home Energy Conservation Project

	Seto City	Suzuka City
Devices eligible for subsidies	(1) High-efficiency water heaters (only household Eco Cute with CO2 refrigerant and heat pump technology) (2) "Sho-ene Navi" (energy usage meters) *Both (1) and (2) must be installed.
Who is eligible	Persons meeting the following conditions. (1) Must install energy-saving equipment in existing homes (homes must be strictly for residential use) where they have lived in Seto City since January 1, 2007 (persons building or purchasing homes which are to be equipped with energy-saving equipment are not eligible).	Persons meeting the following conditions. (1) Must be planning to install energy-saving equipment (Eco Cute and Sho-ene Navi) in homes they own (homes must be strictly for residential use) where they have lived in Suzuka City for at least one year.
	(2) Must not have concluded a contract for or begun work on installation of devices eligible for subsidies prior to the subsidy certification date (the date on a notice of designated indirectly subsidized business (reserving party) ).	(2) Must not have concluded a contract for or begun work on installation of the energy-saving device prior to the Suzuka City Energy Saving Partnership Project subsidy certification date (the date on a notice of designated indirectly subsidized business (reserving party) ).
	(3) Must be able to submit notice by January 31, 2008 that installation is complete.	(3) Must be able to submit notice by January 11, 2008 that installation is complete.

	(5) When submitting report that work is complete, must be able to submit a report on energy usage, etc. prior to the installation. Also, after installation, must be able to practice energy conservation in the home, provide data on energy usage as recorded by "Sho-ene Navi," submit reports on energy usage, etc. after installation and help by answering questionnaires, etc. (until April 30, 2011)	(5) After installation, must be able to practice energy conservation in the home, provide data including energy usage as recorded by "Sho-ene Navi" and help by answering questionnaires (including questionnaire concerning the year prior to installation), etc. (until FY2010).
