Start of Construction of the Fukuyama Biomass Power Plant

Fukuyama Biomass Power Plant LLC (“the operating company”), a joint venture of seven companies—Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (“Chubu Electric Power”), Inabata & Co., Ltd. (“Inabata”), Taihei Dengyo Kaisha Ltd. (“Taihei Dengyo”), Tokyo Sangyo Co., Ltd. (“Tokyo Sangyo”), Solariant Capital Co., Ltd. (“Solariant”), Hitachi Zosen Corporation (“Hitachi Zosen”), and Aichi Kaiun, Co., Ltd. (“Aichi Kaiun”)—today embarked on construction on the Fukuyama Biomass Power Plant (“the power plant”).

The power plant is a woody biomass power plant with an output of 52,700 kW. It is located in Fukuyama-shi, Hiroshima and is scheduled to start commercial operation in May 2025.

With the understanding and cooperation of the local community and parties concerned, the seven investing companies and the operating company will proceed with construction putting safety first.
