Development of a biomass power plant that uses 100% domestic timber in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture ~Aiming to commence operation in December 2024~

Today, Enshu Forest Energy LLC (“Project Company”), which was established by Forest Energy Inc. and in which Shizuoka Gas & Power Co., Ltd. and Chubu Electric Power, Co., Inc. agreed to invest, concluded a project financing agreement.
The Project Company plans to construct and operate “Enshu Forest Energy Power Plant” (“Project”), a 7,100kW power plant that uses 100% domestic timber centering on unused thinned wood from Shizuoka Prefecture, and aims to commence operation in December 2024.
Unused timber from Shizuoka Prefecture will mainly be procured to be used as fuel, and it is also planned to collect and utilize branches, root parts and bark.
The three companies and the Project Company will utilize all local resources through the Project to contribute to forest development and forestry revitalization in Shizuoka Prefecture and realizing a decarbonized society.
