Conclusion of collaborative agreement for the study of resources recycling business

Today, Hekinan City (Mayor: Masanobu Negita) and Chubu Electric Power Co, Inc. (President and Director: Kingo Hayashi; “Chubu Electric Power”) concluded a collaborative agreement for the study of resources recycling business (the “Agreement”).

The Agreement aims to promote initiatives for recycling of resources and energy in the public and private sectors to realize a sustainable society. The two organizations will collaborate on and promote studies of the following items.

• Construction and operation of a refuse incineration facility that will replace Clean Center Kinuura (1-1-1 Hiromi-machi, Hekinan-shi, Aichi), with the purpose to maximize utilization of biomass generated in the local area
• Local production and local consumption through supply of renewable energy generated by biomass to public facilities in the city

Hekinan City promotes various measures to promote the use of renewable energy, resources recycling, decarbonized lifestyles and business activities, to realize a zero-carbon city.

Chubu Electric Power works to solve local issues through resources recycling business with customers and the local community, to realize a decarbonized, safe and secure, decentralized and recycling-oriented “new form of community”.

The two organizations will contribute to sustainable development of the local community through initiatives based on the Agreement.
