Development of a Wood-fired Biomass Power Plant with an Output of 1990 kW in Yahaba Town, Shiwa District, Iwate Prefecture ~Aiming to Commence Operation in January 2026 ~

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. ("Chubu Electric Power”) and Inabata & Co., Ltd. (“Inabata”) reached an agreement with Furusato Mokuzai Logistics K. K. (“Furusato Mokuzai Logistics”) to invest in Furusato FIC Energy, LLC (“Project Company”), established by Furusato Mokuzai Logistics, and to develop the Yahaba Power Plant (“this power generation business project”). Today, the Project Company exchanged a Memorandum on Supplying Electricity During Natural Disasters with Yahaba Town and a Memorandum on Creating a Basic Plan Stipulated in the Act on Promoting Generation of Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources Harmonized with Sound Development of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries with Yahaba Town and Tohoku Bank, Ltd.

This power generation project aims to build and operate a wood-fired biomass plant in Yahaba Town, Shiwa District, Iwate Prefecture. It will have an output of 1990 kW and will be fueled with mainly unused timber harvested in thinning and lumber left in forests (Note) from Iwate Prefecture.

（Note） Lumber harvested as part of forest management and wood production processes but left unused in forests

The three incorporated companies and the project company will carry out development of this plant with the understanding and cooperation of the local community and other related parties.
