Commencement of Operations at Aichi Gamagori Biomass Power Plant

On August 9, 2023, Aichi Gamagori Biomass Power Generation LLC (hereinafter, “AGB”), which was jointly established as a special purpose company by Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”), Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc (hereinafter, “Chubu Electric”), and Terras Energy Corporation (hereinafter, “Terras Energy”), finished construction and commenced operations at Aichi Gamagori Biomass Power Plant located in Gamagori Town of Aichi Prefecture as scheduled.

The biomass power plant, with an output of 50,000 kW, uses woody biomass as fuel, and is anticipated to generate approximately 340 million kWh of power annually.

Construction was completed with the gracious understanding and cooperation of local residents and other related parties.

Chubu Electric, Marubeni, and Terras Energy will endeavor to prevent pollution and institute environmental conservation efforts at AGB by leveraging the advantages afforded by biomass power.
