Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station Reactor No. 5 Resumes Commercial Operation

This is to report that the final inspection (the General Load Performance Inspection) of the 4th periodic inspection of Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station Reactor No. 5 (advanced boiling water reactor, rated output 1,380 MW*) was completed today, and that Reactor No. 5 resumed commercial operation at 4 pm.

January 25, 2011 - Reactor No. 5: Reactor started up, adjustment operation commenced (Reported on January 24 and 25, 2011)
January 28, 2011 - Reactor No. 5: Power generation resumed (Reported on January 28, 2011)
February 23, 2011 - Reactor No. 5: 4th periodic inspection completed, commercial operation commenced
* As of today, Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. has changed the rated electric
output of Reactor No. 5 from 1,267 MW to 1,380 MW.
We will immediately file a notice of change of electric structure as based
on Article 9-2 of the Electric Utility Law.
