Financial Results for the Second Quarter of FY2025

  • Consolidated net sales for the Second quarter of FY2025 totaled 1,747.8 billion yen.

  • Although losses from withdrawing from the offshore wind power generation business, increased fixed power supply costs at Miraiz, and a deterioration in the balance due to the reaction to the previous year's abundant water supply occurred, profit increased by 8.3 billion yen compared to the same period last year, partly due to timing differences turning from losses to gains

    FY2025 Business Forecast

    • Now, I would like to discuss our business outlook for FY2025.
    • Regarding the performance outlook, although we recorded a loss from the withdrawal from the offshore wind power generation business in the second quarter, we expect results to be at the same level as the previous forecast announced on July 29, with no changes. This is due to factors such as the impact of high summer temperatures and the expansion of cost reduction effects from the restructuring of Miraiz's power procurement portfolio.
    • Consolidated net sales are expected to be approximately 3,550 billion yen, consolidated ordinary income is expected to be approximately 230.0 billion yen, and net income attributable to owners of the parent is expected to be approximately 185.0 billion yen.
    • Regarding segment-specific performance forecasts, Miraiz and Power Grid are each expected to see an increase of ¥15 billion in profit, while Other/Adjustments is expected to see a decrease of ¥30 billion in profit, representing a change from the previous announcement.
    • Regarding the impact of U.S. tariff policies, we recognize that electricity demand in the nearby Chubu region is progressing as planned, and no significant impact has occurred at this time.
    • We will strive to secure the currently announced profit levels and ensure the achievement of our mid-term management targets by thoroughly implementing risk management. This includes strengthening our market responsiveness, further cost reductions, and enhancing monitoring of each business and evaluation of investment projects.
    • This ends my presentation.
