FY2025 Q1 Financial Results & July 2025 Regular Press Conference: President Hayashi's Message
July 29, 2025
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
I will be discussing the following matters today:
Financial Results for the first Quarter of FY2025
- Consolidated net sales for the first quarter of FY2025 totaled 800.3 billion yen.
- Due to factors such as the conversion of TOENEC CORPORATION, which was a subsidiary in the second quarter of last year, into an affiliate, It decreased by 20.2 billion year-on-year.
- Ordinary income totaled 104.8 billion yen.
- The income decreased by 20.0 billion year-on-year, due to factors including increased fixed power supply costs at Miraiz, a deterioration in earnings resulting from the reaction to the previous year's abundant water supply, and reduced profits from overseas and renewable energy power generation businesses at JERA.
- Consolidated ordinary income excluding the time-lag margins was about 76.0 billion yen, a decrease on the order of 35.0 billion yen year-on-year.
- Quarterly net income attributable to owners of the parent company amounted to 85.3 billion yen, a decrease of 14.2 billion yen year-on-year.
FY2025 Business Forecast
- There is no change in our business outlook for FY2025, as we expect approximately the same results as those announced previously on April 28.
- Consolidated net sales are expected to be approximately 3,550 billion yen, consolidated ordinary income is expected to be approximately 230.0 billion yen, and net income attributable to owners of the parent is expected to be approximately 185.0 billion yen.
- Regarding the impact of U.S. tariff policies, we recognize that electricity demand in the nearby Chubu region is progressing as planned, and no significant impact has occurred at this time.
- The business and investment environment surrounding our company faces heightened risks, including U.S. tariff policies and the situation in the Middle East, and we anticipate continued uncertainty ahead.
- While monitoring factors such as summer temperature impacts, we will strive to secure the currently announced profit levels and ensure the achievement of our mid-term management goals. This will be accomplished by further strengthening our market responsiveness and cost reduction efforts, along with thorough risk management through monitoring each business and evaluating investment projects.
- This ends my presentation.
