Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. and Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. (President Ryuichi Arimoto; head office in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) have today been jointly awarded a contract for the "Capability Improvement Project for Achieving the Electricity Sector Master Plan in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka" ("Project") by the Japan International Cooperation Agency ("JICA").

Amidst increasing electricity demand caused by economic growth, Sri Lanka was promoting the development of power resources, especially hydroelectricity. Chubu Electric Power will tap into its accumulation of knowledge and experiences in the electric power business in taking on this project, offering technical guidance and transferring technology to Sri Lanka.
