Development of a 75-MW Wood-Burning Biomass Power Plant in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture with a Tentative Operation Commencement Date of June 2024

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (President: Kingo Hayashi; head office in Higashi-ku, Nagoya City; “Chubu Electric Power”) and Toho Gas Co., Ltd. (President: Yoshiro Tominari; head office in Atsuta-ku, Nagoya City; “Toho Gas”) have agreed to invest in “Kumamoto Forest Generation LLC ” (“Project Company”) established by ENE-VISION Co., Ltd. (President: Yasufumi Sudo; head office in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya City; “ENE-VISION”), and have, today, concluded a project finance-based loan agreement.
The Project Company will construct and operate “Yatsushiro Biomass Power Plant,” a wood-burning biomass power plant that will generate 75 MW and aims to commence operation in June 2024.
We will move forward with the project with the understanding and cooperation of the community residents as well as the various entities involved.
