Yonago Biomass Power Generation LLC, a joint venture of Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc. (President & CEO: Takahiro Yanai), Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (President & Director: Kingo Hayashi), Tokyu Land Corporation (President & CEO: Masashi Okada), New Energy Development Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Shinya Takahashi) and SANKO Inc. (President: Masateru Miwa) has completed construction of Yonago Biomass Power Plant (Yonago-shi, Tottori Prefecture; "the power plant") and commenced commercial operation on April 2, 2022.
The power plant is fueled by wood pellets and palm kernel shells (PKS), and generates approximately 54,500 kW of electricity, which is sold under the feed-in tariff system for renewable energy.
In addition, the palm kernel shells used in the power plant are procured based on the "Guidelines for the Formulation of Business Plans (Biomass Power Generation)" presented by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy in April 2021, and voluntary efforts are being made to ensure sustainability (see Note).

(Note) Yonago Biomass Power Plant strives to procure palm kernel shells that have obtained internationally recognized certification. We are working with domestic and international fuel suppliers to confirm the origin of palm kernel shells and their distribution routes.
