Today, Kosai City of Shizuoka Prefecture, Toyohashi University of Technology, Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc., Sala Energy Co., Ltd., Tokyo Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd. and DK Corporation concluded an “agreement for comprehensive collaboration” intended for mutual collaboration and cooperation in their respective fields and for the study of data utilization, in order to resolve local issues and implement measures that contribute to the local community by utilizing electricity, gas and water meter reading data.

Background and purpose of the collaboration
In recent years, there have been expectations for contributions to regional infrastructure and civic life through data utilization in a wide range of fields, as various data can now be acquired due to digitization of water and other meter readings with the rapid development of IoT technology.
Therefore, industry, academia and government will collaborate and cooperate to study data utilization, in order to realize civil services, solve regional issues and implement measures that contribute to the local community by utilizing electricity, gas and water meter reading data, which are basic data and indispensable to civic life, along with various big data with latest technologies such as AI and IoT.
