Development of Solar Power Generation Equipment in Motosu City Sewerage Facilities of Gifu Prefecture

February 26, 2024
Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

Chubu Electric Power has been selected as power generator for the Motosu City Sewerage Facility Solar Power Generation Equipment Installation Project by Motosu City, Gifu Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as "Motosu City"), and today signed the Basic Agreement for the Motosu City Sewerage Facility Solar Power Generation Equipment Installation Project (hereinafter referred to as "Agreement") with Motosu City.

This project aims to contribute to the formation of a decarbonized society by introducing solar power generation equipment, etc. on the roofs of sewerage facilities and facility sites owned by Motosu City, thereby promoting the spread of solar power generation projects.

Based on the Agreement, and with the understanding and cooperation of Motosu City which manages the sewerage facilities, the local community, and other related parties, we will install, operate, and maintain solar power generation facilities with power outputs of 250.0 kW and 682.5 kW on the premises of the Shinsei Purification Center and the Motosu Purification Center.

The Chubu Electric Power Group has positioned renewable energy as one of its main power sources that will contribute to achieving a carbon-free society as well as enhancing energy self-sufficiency, and we will continue active development in order to achieve our goal of "an expansion over 3.2 million kW through ownership, construction, and maintenance of renewable energy plants by around 2030".
