Commenced commercial operation of biomass power plant using 100% domestic timber in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture

Enshu Forest Energy LLC (the "Project Company"), a joint venture of Forest Energy Inc., Shizuoka Gas & Power Co., Ltd., and Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. has completed construction of the Enshu Forest Energy Power Plant (the "Plant") and commenced commercial operation on November 16, 2024.
The Plant is a wood-fired biomass power plant for local production and local consumption with an output of 7,100 kW, using 100% domestic wood, mainly unused thinnings and pruned branches generated mainly in Shizuoka Prefecture.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the local community and relevant parties in the construction of the Plant.
Through the operation of the Plant, the three companies and the Project Company will contribute to the forest management and revitalization of the forest industry in Shizuoka Prefecture by recycling and using regional resources for local production and local consumption, and will also contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society.
