Although the business environment for the Chubu Electric Power Group remains uncertain, in light of continuing low fuel prices and group-wide management efforts, the Group has decided today to implement measures to reduce electricity rates and other burdens in FY2025.

1. Measures to reduce electricity rates for extra high-voltage and high-voltage customers

For all extra high-voltage and high-voltage customers in the Chubu area, electricity rates for the full year of FY2025 will be discounted by 1.00 yen per kWh from the fuel cost adjustment unit price. This discount will reduce our customers' burden by approximately 2.9 to 3.9% (Note 1)

(Note 1) Calculated based on the fuel cost adjustment unit price applicable in March 2025

2. Measures to reduce burden for low-voltage customers (Campaign to Support Lifestyle)

As commodity prices continue to soar, we will implement various campaigns to support the lifestyles of our customers, including reducing the burden of electricity rates on mainly residential customers.

(1) 10% discount on electricity rates in winter

In the face of skyrocketing prices, in order to allow residential customers to use electrical appliances such as heaters without anxiety even during the winter season when electricity consumption is high, we will offer a 10% discount (Note 2) on electricity rates for the five-month period from December 2025 to April 2026, for usage from November 2025 to March 2026.

(Note 2) The measure of FY2024 applied only to household customers with children or the elderly, and to customers who are starting a new life, such as moving to a new job or moving to a new city. However, in FY2025, all customers who subscribe to electricity rate menus such as the Otoku Plan and other menus launched in April 2016 or later will be eligible for this measure. The discount is applied to the total of the basic charge and electricity volume charge, which includes other discounts, and does not apply to the fuel cost adjustment charges or the surcharge for promoting renewable energy power generation.

(2) 5,000 KatEne points each for new electricity or gas contracts

Customers who newly sign up for electricity (Note 3) or gas because of moving or switching from another company will receive 5,000 KatEne points for each new contract, so they can use our electricity and gas without anxiety. This means that a total of 10,000 points will be given to customers who sign a contract for a set of electricity and gas.
Please note that customers who have earned KatEne points by signing a new electricity and/or gas contract as described in (2) above are not eligible for the 10% discount on electricity rates during the winter season described in (1) above.

(Note 3) Electricity rate menus that were launched in April 2016 or later, such as the Otoku Plan, etc., are eligible for this campaign.

In addition, when combined with a separate campaign offering 5,000 points (Note 4) for opening a new account at KatEne BANK, a banking service for households, KatEne points will be awarded for a total of 15,000.

(Note 4) There are some requirements such as opening an account by the end of May 2025 and having a deposit balance of 100,000 yen or more.

(3) Initiatives to promote renewable energy use

In order to promote the generation and effective use of renewable energy, we plan to begin accepting new rate menus in April 2025 that will help promote the use of surplus solar power during daytime hours. Given that this rate menu is expected to encourage the use of devices such as Eco-Cute that operate during daytime hours, a campaign to support the replacement of Eco-Cute will be implemented. High-performance Eco-Cute that can be utilized for demand response is also eligible for replacement support.
In addition, a gift card will be given to customers who sign KatEne Lease contract to install solar power generation equipment and storage batteries in a standalone house at no initial cost.

Details on how to apply for each campaign will be announced as it becomes available. We will also continue to consider implementing further campaigns to support the lifestyles of our customers.

The Chubu Electric Power Group will strive for further management efficiency and the development and provision of attractive services to meet customer needs, together with the stable delivery of electricity to our customers.
