Omaezaki Port Biomass Power Plant Started Commercial Operation

Omaezaki Port Biomass Energy LLC, a limited liability company jointly owned by Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc., RENOVA, Inc., Mitsubishi Electric Financial Solutions Corporation, and Suzuyo Shoji Co., Ltd., has completed construction of the Omaezaki Port Biomass Power Plant (the "Plant") and commenced commercial operation on January 29, 2025.

The Plant is a wood-fired biomass power plant with an output of 74,950 kW, and is expected to generate approximately 530 million kWh per year.

We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the local community and relevant parties in its construction.

The Chubu Electric Power Group has positioned renewable energy as one of its main power sources that will contribute to achieving a carbon-free society as well as enhancing energy self-sufficiency, and we will continue active development in order to achieve our goal of "an expansion over 3.2 million kW through ownership, construction, and maintenance of renewable energy plants by around 2030".
