Chubu Electric Power Joins Open Power AI Consortium

Chubu Electric Power is pleased to announce that today we have joined the Open Power AI Consortium, a collaborative entity composed of utilities, technology companies, startups, and research institutions primarily based in the United States.

This marks the first time a Japanese business operator has joined this consortium.

Established in March of this year by EPRI, a global independent non-profit energy research and development organization, the consortium is dedicated to developing open AI solutions tailored for the power sector and creating a sandbox environment to foster innovative power systems.

Within the consortium, Chubu Electric Power will collaborate with industry pioneers to drive technological innovation in the power sector using AI, accelerating the implementation of next-generation infrastructure such as the development and operation of advanced transmission and distribution networks, the expansion of decarbonized power sources, and the assurance of a stable electricity supply.
