Tahara Biomass Power LLC (hereinafter "Project Company"), a joint venture of JFE Engineering Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuyoshi Fukuda; "JFE Engineering"), Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (Head Office: Higashi-ku, Nagoya; President & Director: Kingo Hayashi; "Chubu Electric Power"), Toho Gas Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Atsuta-ku, Nagoya; Representative Director, President: Satoshi Yamazaki; "Toho Gas") and Tokyo Century Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO, Representative Director: Koji Fujiwara; "Tokyo Century"), has completed construction of the Tahara Biomass Power Station (hereinafter "Power Station") and commenced commercial operation on September 1, 2025.
Power Station is a wood-fired biomass power plant with an output of 112,000 kW, and is expected to generate approximately 770 million kWh per year.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the local community and relevant parties in its construction.
The four investment companies and Project Company will operate Power Station with the utmost consideration for the safety and security of local residents, and will continue to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society through this project.
