Signing of a Cooperation Agreement on Diesel Reduction with PT PLN (Persero)

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. ("Chubu") and Okinawa Electric Power Co., Inc. ("Okinawa") have signed a cooperation agreement (hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement") with PT PLN (Persero) ("PLN"), a state-owned electricity company in the Republic of Indonesia.

The Agreement aims to explore the feasibility of reducing existing diesel power generation in the Indonesia's island regions through solar power generation, battery storage, and grid stabilization measures. Under the Agreement, Chubu and Okinawa will provide power technology, while PLN will provide power grid data from the island regions. Together, the three companies will jointly examine the feasibility of reducing existing diesel power generation by utilizing renewable energy in these areas, a project currently being pursued by PLN.

Chubu is committed to realizing a decarbonized society by optimally combining four areas in its global business: the green area focused on renewable energy, the blue area related to CCUS or hydrogen business, the retail, transmission, and distribution and new services area, and the frontier area.

Okinawa is committed to realizing a decarbonized society by promoting global warming countermeasures overseas using the technology developed on remote islands and expanding renewable energy sources while maintaining a stable supply.
