Possible leakage of fuel, etc. due to vehicle accident during construction of Toyama River Hydroelectric Power Station

At around 6:45 a.m. today, on Municipal Road Kamimura Route 155 along Kitamatazawa in Kamimura, Iida City, Nagano Prefecture, a dump truck heading to the construction site of the Toyama River Hydroelectric Power Station fell onto the bank of the Kitamatazawa River, a tributary of the Toyama River (hereinafter, "this incident").
As a result, this may have caused a leak of up to 412 liters of diesel fuel, up to 38 liters of engine oil, and up to 47 liters of transmission fluid.
After this incident occurred, oil mats were used to collect oil around the dump truck that fell over, and an oil fence was installed at the Iijima weir downstream. In addition, monitoring system is in place, and no oil leakage into the river has been confirmed to date.
This incident has been reported to the relevant administrative authorities.
We deeply apologize for any concern this may have caused to the community.
Moving forward, we will work in coordination with relevant authorities and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate measures are taken.
