Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.

Chubu Electric Power announces that it has invested in mapry Co., LTD. (Representative Director: Keiji Yamaguchi; hereinafter "mapry"), a startup developing and providing Digital Transformation (DX) solutions for the forestry and timber industry.

mapry contributes to labor savings in timber industry and the spread of digital technology by providing equipment and software, including remote sensing, as intuitive services at prices that make them easy to introduce in the field. Going forward, the company is advancing challenges that will pioneer the future of timber industry, such as AI-supported forest management planning and the development of autonomous forestry machinery.

Using participation in large-scale timber operations as a stepping stone, Chubu Electric Power will work to improve operational efficiency and secure labor for forest management by leveraging technologies held by startups and establishing systems enabling large-scale operations; we aim to build a sustainable domestic forest resource value chain. We will also engage in thinning and pruning wood recycling, fast-growing tree cultivation, and the growth areas of SAF and bioethanol production.
