Receipt of Guidance from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Regarding Improper Procurement Procedures in Safety Improvement Work at the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant

Today, we received guidance from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry regarding a matter (hereinafter referred to as "this matter") in which it was discovered that certain transactions with some business partners related to safety improvement construction work at the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant had remained unsettled for an extended period, and that an executive of our Nuclear Power Division had failed to report these facts to the Board of Directors and other relevant bodies for a long period of time, in violation of internal regulations.

We would like to once again apologize for the inconvenience caused to our business partners and for the concern caused to the local community and all stakeholders due to this matter.

We take this guidance seriously and will respond to it appropriately.

2 Report on the results of any additional investigations or other measures as soon as they are finalized.
