Start of a demonstration for the widespread use of perovskite solar cells at Kuragaike Park (Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture)

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. ("Chubu Electric Power"), Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co., Ltd. ("Chubu Electric Power Miraiz"), and TOENEC CORPORATION ("TOENEC") will jointly conduct a demonstration project (the "Demonstration") with Toyota City from July 2026 onward at Kuragaike Park in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, for the widespread adoption of perovskite solar cells ("PSC") (Note 1).
The Demonstration follows Toyota City's application for Kuragaike Park as a candidate site for a demonstration field under the Aichi Perovskite Solar Cell Promotion Council (Note 2) and its selection by the Council today. The three companies will start the Demonstration at the park in cooperation with Toyota City.

(Note 1) Due to its high flexibility and lightweight properties, it can be installed on building walls, roofs with low load-bearing capacity, and small electronic devices—locations where conventional silicon-based solar cells were difficult to install. This feature makes it a promising next-generation solar power generation system.
(Note 2)　The Council was established in May 2025 to support the commercialization of the 'Perovskite Solar Cell Deployment and Expansion Project,' which aims to dramatically increase the adoption of renewable energy in Aichi Prefecture.

In this Demonstration, the three companies, together with Toyota City, will install a total of approximately 1 kW of PSC manufactured by Aisin Corporation on the perimeter fence of the playhouse rooftop at Kuragaike Park from July 2026, evaluate power generation characteristics and changes over time, and identify issues.
In addition, by verifying installation methods that take advantage of the "lightweight" and "thin" characteristics of PSCs, the Demonstration aims to establish a model case for the widespread use of PSCs in facilities where conventional solar panels have been difficult to install.

In the Demonstration, the three companies will collaborate as part of the Chubu Electric Power Group: Chubu Electric Power will evaluate power generation characteristics and changes over time based on demonstration data, Chubu Electric Power Miraiz will promote and support the Demonstration and coordinate the overall verification process, and TOENEC will be responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, management, and verification of installation methods.

Through this Demonstration, the three companies will work toward the social implementation of PSC and maximum utilization of renewable energy, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
