Press Release
Development of Low-Voltage Photovoltaic Power Plants (400 in total) in the Chubu Area - Aiming to start operation of all plants in FY2027
May 15, 2026
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
Chubu Electric Power is announcing its decision to collaborate with Marubeni Power Retail Corporation (President and CEO: Atsushi Suzuki; hereinafter "Marubeni Power") to develop low-voltage photovoltaic power plants (Note) in the Chubu area (hereinafter "this project").
Under this project, we plan to develop a total of 400 photovoltaic power plants with a combined generating capacity of approximately 20,000 kW by fiscal year 2027. Marubeni Power will be responsible for the development and construction of the power plants, while our company will handle their operation and management.
The electricity generated will be supplied to customers through the off-site PPA service of Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co., Inc.
Moving forward, our company will work together with Marubeni Power to proceed with development while taking the natural environment into consideration and with the understanding and cooperation of the local community and other related parties.
The Chubu Electric Power Group has positioned renewable energy as one of its main power sources that will contribute to achieving a carbon-free society as well as enhancing energy self-sufficiency, and we will continue active development in order to achieve our goal of "an expansion over 3.2 million kW through ownership, construction, and maintenance of renewable energy plants by around 2030".
(Note) Photovoltaic power plants with a plant output of less than 50 kW
