Receipt of a Request for a Report from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Pursuant to Article 70, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Implementation of Reprocessing, etc., of Spent Nuclear Fuel in Nuclear Power Generation and the Promotion of Decommissioning

Regarding the inappropriate practices (hereinafter "this matter") related to the implementation reports and cost claims submitted to the Spent Fuel Reprocessing and Decommissioning Promotion Organization concerning the dismantling and removal work for Units 1 and 2 of the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant, we received today a request for a report from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry pursuant to the provisions of Article 70, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Implementation of Spent Fuel Reprocessing, etc., in Nuclear Power Generation and the Promotion of Decommissioning.

We apologize for any concern or inconvenience this matter has caused to local residents and all relevant parties.

Going forward, we will respond appropriately to this request for a report.
