FY2014 First-half Electric Power Sales Results

The volume of electric power sold reached 61,225 GWh, down 2.5% YoY.
1 Demand for electricity other than extra high-voltage power services (i.e., general residential consumption): Down 6.1% YoY
(1) Lighting services (residential customers)
This summer was cooler than the year before, leading to less use of climate control equipment. Owing to this and energy conservation efforts, sales dropped 6.0% YoY, running behind the previous year's results.

Sales dropped 6.8% YoY as a result of the temperature leading to less use of climate control equipmen..
2 Demand for extra high-voltage power services: Down 0.9% YoY
(1) Commercial (office building and commercial facility customers)
Sales dropped 3.6% YoY as a result of the temperature leading to less use of climate control equipment.
(2) Industrial and other (medium and large factory customers)
Although increased productions were observed in machinery, sales remained 0.0% YoY from factors such as decreased production in other industries.
