Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.(President & Director: Kingo Hayashi, "Chubu Electric Power"), Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co., Inc. (President: Hironori Kamiya, "Miraiz") and ECOMMIT Co., Ltd. (Representative Director & CEO: Teruyuki Kawano, "ECOMMIT") will start collecting unnecessary clothing and other items through "PASSTO" at 18 stores of APITA and PIAGO, general merchandise stores operated by UNY Co., Ltd. ("UNY") as part of an initiative aimed at realizing resource-recycling community development.

In February 2024, Chubu Electric Power and ECOMMIT concluded an agreement ("the agreement") on a business collaboration for the realization of resource-recycling community development. (Press release issued on February 27, 2024)
Miraiz joined the agreement in August 2024, and together with Chubu Electric Power and ECOMMIT, is proposing the introduction of PASSTO, a resource recycling service that re-utilizes unneeded clothing and miscellaneous goods through reuse and recycling for corporate customers and others with business sites in the Chubu area.

Chubu Electric Power, Miraiz and ECOMMIT, with the support of UNY, will install PASSTO collection boxes for unnecessary items at 18 APITA and PIAGO stores mainly in Aichi Prefecture (within Aichi, Mie, Gifu, Shizuoka and Kanagawa prefectures) to reuse and recycle clothing and other items, starting today. Furthermore, based on the results of this introduction, we will continue to consider expanding the number of locations where the boxes are installed.

The three companies will continue to work together with local residents to expand the circle of initiatives in which anyone can easily get involved and contribute to the realization of a resource-recycling community.

[PASSTO - Resource Recycling Service Overview]

PASSTO is a system that creates a cycle of reuse and recycling by collecting unnecessary items that are no longer in use, sorting them for optimal use, and reutilizing them.
"PASSTO" website
It is a coined word shortened from PASS TO, meaning "to pass to the next person, to pass to the future". We provide a place where consumers can easily take part in resource recycling and an alternative to "throw away" by being the closest entrance to resource recycling in their daily lives, thereby realizing a circular economy.
